Training for new drivers

The new Road Safety Education Program of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) has been up and running since January 2010. Among the guiding principles of this new mandatory driving course, let us mention ecodriving, which serves to help new drivers make more ecological choices when using their car as well as help them adopt energy-saving driving techniques.

More than 100,000 new drivers follow this training course every year in the different driving schools across Québec.

It is within this scope that the Ministry developed an ecodriving training course for new drivers now featured in module 12 of the program. All driver training schools across Québec that are recognized by the Association québécoise du transport et des routes (AQTR) have access to this training material.
